Parts Counterperson – Automotive

We are seeking a reliable, professional parts counterperson to purchase, sell, store and issue parts within our busy dealership. This position requires solid experience in ordering parts, maintaining inventory, and demonstrating excellent internal and external customer service. Job Responsibilities

  • Assist all walk-in, over the counter, phone customers, technicians, and vendors.  Select required parts, suggest companion requirements, and ensure exposure to the full product line.
  • Facilitate effective communication and ensure customer concerns are resolved.

  • Pull parts purchased from inventory. If part is not in inventory then determine availability; Order items when requested by customer, report lost sales when applicable.  

  • Order parts and accessories from Lexus and approved after-market suppliers; Locate parts and accessories, secure the best price, and ensure proper quality. Place parts in inventory, enter quantity into database, and monitor inventory levels.

  • Conduct periodic audits to verify number and value of parts on hand (perpetual inventories).

  • Coordinate wholesale account activities (order, receive, bill, and ship).

  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed when conducting work activities; Help maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area. Work and drive safely by complying with all safe driving rules and applicable laws. Use shop equipment and tools safely. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)      when necessary: clothing, footwear, safety glasses, etc.

  • Assist shipping and receiving, parts driver and front counter when necessary.Coordinate and communicate actions with relevant dealership representatives, and ensure harmonious and productive internal relations.

  • Maintain a high level of personal grooming, hygiene, and dress.

  • Work in an effective and professional manner with associates, vendors, and customers.

  • Conduct all business with honesty, integrity and in accordance with Our Values and our Code of Business Conduct.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
