METRO LEXUS is in immediate need of a Porter to help with our growing business. Responsibilities will include cleaning new and used cars, and washing customer cars with both parking and facility housekeeping responsibilities. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be able to pass a background check, hair follicle drug screen, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and be able to work in an all-weather environment. Report for work at assigned time(s); leave at assigned time(s).

Perform the following duties at the make ready:

Pick up new and pre-owned vehicles as directed; drive to make ready area.

Move vehicles around the yard as directed.

Deliver new or pre-owned vehicles to customers.

Also, drop off and pick-up customers or loan vehicles as directed.

Promote customer satisfaction.  Answer customer questions accurately and politely.  Respond promptly to customer concerns.

Help maintain a clean, neat, and safe shop and yard.

Help maintain a clean, neat, and safe Service Department/Car Wash/Detail area.

Work and drive safely.

Comply with all safety and driving rules.

Use shop equipment and tools safely.

Wear required personal protective equipment: clothing, footwear, gloves, masks, safety glasses, etc.

Dispose of cleaners, waxes, and any hazardous wastes properly.

Report all accidents immediately.

Assist other associates as needed and/or directed by management

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to six months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Has a valid driver’s license.  Is legally able to work in the United States.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to  humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
