Metro Lexus– Human Resource Business Partner (Full Time)

The Human Resource Business Partner is a key position that supports both Metro Lexus Cleveland and Lexus Akron/Canton.  This position will work closely with management and other departments to help ensure harmonious and productive operations. Successful candidates must be able to maintain excellent business relations with customers, both internally and externally. Candidates will also be expected to help develop and motivate dealership initiatives to ensure that performance metrics are being met or exceeded. 

Job Duties:

  1. Provides timely and precise strategic and tactical assistance for the dealership.
  2. Consult with managers and provide guidance; coach managers regarding selection, retention, associate development, employee performance, counseling, disciplinary issues, termination processes, and investigations.
  3. Fully coordinate and communicate relevant and appropriate actions within the dealerships.
  4. Administers staffing plans in partnership with dealership General Manager. Maintains employee records regarding employment, separations, leaves of absence, etc.
  5. Recruit qualified candidates for open positions.
  6. Facilitate the pre-hire process.
  7. Responsible for new hire process including correct completion of paperwork, proper approvals, and ensure payroll/associate records correspond to dealership requirements.
  8. Develop job descriptions and pay plans.
  9. Process employee changes in the HR/Payroll system (ADP) that includes pay, status changes, terminations, etc.
  10. Initiate and support recognition programs for employee productivity and achievement.
  11. Maintain a current organizational chart of the dealerships.
  12. Maintain dealership legal posting requirements. 

Job Requirements/Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Expert knowledge of Title VII, ADA and EEOC Laws to assist the dealership in reaching their business goals and maintaining compliance with local, state and federal laws
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of core human resources disciplines with emphasis on administration, employment and associate relations and their application in a variety of business settings.
  4. Automobile experience a plus.
  5. Demonstrate leadership, initiative and interpersonal influence.
  6. Demonstrate strong administrative, planning and coordination skills.
  7. Demonstrate the ability to deal courteously and effectively with customers and other associates.
  8. Demonstrate good computer skills and working knowledge of dealership computer systems.
  9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
  10. Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively – orally and in writing.
  11. Ability to handle confidential matters and information with discretion.
  12. Ability to promote, coordinate, and support change.
  13. Enjoys working in a fast paced environment.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: *

None required. PHR, SPHR, SHRM – CP or SHRM – SCP preferred.
